Tim Strauch, II is a seasoned
professional in the field of children's entertainment. The son of Tim Strauch, Sr. known
professionally throughout Northern California as "Timo the Clown", Tim II has
performed on stage and on his own since the age of six.
In 1980, when his father dislocated his shoulder, Tim stepped in to help out.
In a sense, Tim was the performer that summer while his father's shoulder healed. Tim, at
the age of ten, became "Tim-e the Clown" to perform all the comedy magic, make
all the balloon animals, as well as drive Timo's famous clown car. Three fairs that year
got an added bonus thanks to "Tim-e the Clown"!
In 1986, at the age of sixteen, Tim became the very first person to make
balloon animals in restaurants in the Sacramento area. At that time, Tim shed the clown
face to become "Tim the Balloon Guy" performing 5 nights a week at Carlos Murphy's in
Sacramento. Since that time, balloon twisters at restaurants are everywhere!
In 1987 after graduating from Valley High School in Sacramento, Tim pitched
his balloon act to a new restaurant chain called "Woody's" where he performed
there for two years.
September 1989 Tim's entertainment background and balloon sculpturing
abilities were summoned to perform at "The Biggest Party in History" in Texas.
Hired by Bill Graham Presents, Tim the Balloon Guy performed in Houston and Mercedes,
Texas. All proceeds of the event went to benefit the Special Olympics in Texas.
Concentrating on college for the next few years, Tim worked various jobs in
the entertainment field including United Artists Theatres and Blockbuster Video Stores. At
Blockbuster he learned his management skills by being promoted to Assistant Manager.
In 1993, Tim graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a
Bachelor's Degree in Communications Media Production. While pursuing jobs in that very
difficult field, Tim took a job as Assistant Manager in a brand new form of children's
entertainment called "Discovery Zone". There he was quickly promoted to General
Manager in charge of the entire store operations. Through it all, his love of children's
entertainment never left him.
In 1996, Tim moved to Los Angeles to perform and perfect his craft of
entertaining children by working at
Magic Mountain
and
Theme Parks.
As an enthusiastic and dependable performer of both parks Character crews, Tim was praised
and respected as one of the best Characters around. In July of 2002, Tim's
Character Performing duties were summoned by the Sacramento AAA Baseball team where
during the River Cats 2003 Championship year he
was voted "Best Mascot of the
Pacific Coast League" by fans on the Pacific Coast League's
Official website. Tim was rewarded for his hard work with TWO River Cats
Championship Rings for 2003 and 2004 seasons.
In August of 1997, Tim started his own business fulfilling
children's entertainment needs wherever they are wanted. The business, officially titled
"Timmy II Productions", deals in Costume Characters as well as "Tim the
Magic Guy". Tim's knowledge and experience as a character has led him to be selected
as the "official Character Parade Coordinator" for the Western Fairs Association
1998 Annual Convention. "Tim the Magic Guy" continues to delight kids with his
special brand of comedy magic. Tim is also a CLAD Certified Multiple
Subject teacher with a Master's Degree in Education. He currently
teaches 4th grade at the Gateway Community Outreach Academy at McClellan Park!
